Halewood Shotokan Karate Club
Friendly, traditional Shotokan karate for children and adults. No experience needed – just come along and give it a go.
Part of the community since 1974
Established in 1974, Halewood Karate Club is one of the longest-running karate clubs in the North West and has been part of the local community for over 50 years. We've developed beginners into national and international competitors and champions, and we support every student's goals, from first lesson to international stage.
Everyone is welcome, from young children to adults, in a friendly, supportive club where you progress at your own pace. Come along for a free trial class.
We teach Shotokan, one of the most widely practised styles of karate in the world. Training builds strength, balance and self-discipline, and it is something the whole family can do together.
Basics
Stances, punches, kicks and blocks, practised until they become second nature.
Forms
Set sequences of movements that teach timing, balance and technique.
Sparring
Controlled partner work, introduced gradually and always supervised.
